Private wishlists and secret gift reserves

GiftLink is a private gift registry for families and organizations. Members share standing wishlists inside their groups, reserve gifts without spoiling the surprise, and keep events and history all year.

Access & privacy

GiftLink is a private organization circle, not a public gift registry.

Invite / code-gated org membership: You join with an organization signup code or an invite — not an open public signup. Only people your organization admits can see lists.
Year-round private family/org groups: Share wishlists inside the groups you already belong to, all year — not only at Christmas or for a one-off party. Requires an active subscription.

Wishlists

One standing list per person, with the details gift-givers actually need.

Create and edit your own list: Add, change, or remove items on your list whenever you like. Everyone in your shared groups can shop it.
Add items by hand: Type a name, price, store, link, category, rank, quantity, notes, and an optional photo — no product page required.
Auto-fill from a product URL: When your organization enables it, paste a store link (Amazon, Walmart, Target, and others) and GiftLink fills in the details for you.
Browser extension: Add items straight from product pages while you browse. Install the extension for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox and save anything to your wishlist in one click.
Categories and ranking: Sort and filter by category and how badly you want each item, on your list and when you shop someone else’s.
Item quantity: Ask for more than one of the same thing. Shoppers can claim individual units so you do not end up with extras — or shortfalls.
Hide individual items: Keep a single item off your shared list while you decide, without hiding everything else.
Hide entire list from the group: Turn your whole list private so group members cannot browse it until you are ready.
Item images: Attach a picture so gift-givers can see exactly what you mean.
Copy an item onto your own list: See something you like on someone else’s list? Copy it onto yours in one step.
Export list (CSV / TXT): Download your list as a spreadsheet or plain text when you want a copy outside GiftLink.
Print someone else’s list: Print a group member’s wishlist for shopping in a store or sharing on paper.

Shopping & commitments

Reserve, buy, and return without spoiling the surprise.

Reserve an item: Mark that you plan to get something so nobody else doubles up. The recipient does not see the reservation.
Mark purchased, separate from reserve: After you buy it, mark it purchased. Reservation and purchase are two steps, so a hold is not the same as “it’s bought.”
Unreserve or mark returned: Changed your mind or sent it back? Release the item so someone else can claim it.
Status hidden from the recipient: The list owner never sees who reserved or bought their items, so gifts stay a surprise.
Other shoppers see who claimed: Everyone else in the group can see who has already claimed an item, so you can coordinate without asking the recipient.
Quantity-aware claims: If someone wants three of an item, shoppers claim by count. You can take one and leave the rest for others.
My commitments / shopping list: See everything you have reserved or purchased for other people in one place, with search and filters.
Print shopping / commitments list: Print a standard or customized shopping list of your commitments to take to the store.

Groups & events

Stay ahead of birthdays, holidays, and anything else your circle celebrates.

Likes / dislikes or gift preferences: Write likes and dislikes on your profile. They show on your wishlist so people know what you enjoy — and what to skip.
Show email to group members (opt-in): Choose whether group members can see your email address. Off by default.
Group members create events for any occasion: Add a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or any other date for your groups — not only a date stored on a profile.
Upcoming events on the dashboard: Your home page lists coming group and organization events so you can shop in time.
Email reminders for upcoming events: Get an email before a group event so you have time to pick something from their list.
Yearly recurring events: Mark an event to repeat each year so birthdays and anniversaries come back automatically.
Download event as calendar (.ics): Add a GiftLink event to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, or any app that accepts .ics files.

History & thank-you

Keep a record of what you bought and what you received.

Purchased-gift history archive: Look back at gifts you bought for other people after the occasion is over.
Received-gift history archive: Keep a record of gifts you marked as received, separate from the live wishlist.
Send thank-you emails: Send a thank-you from History — to a group member or to any address — for one gift or several.

AI gift recommendations: When your organization enables Gift Finder, describe the person, occasion, and budget. Each idea includes search links to Amazon, Google Shopping, and eBay.

Account & notifications

Stay in the loop and keep your profile the way you like it.

In-app notification feed: See activity in GiftLink when items are added, changed, or removed, and when a commitment is affected.
Email notifications with opt-out: Get digest emails about list activity and event reminders. Turn email off anytime in your profile.
Change / reset password: Change your password while signed in, or request a reset email if you forget it.
Change email: Update the address on your account. GiftLink sends a verification link before the change takes effect.
Avatar / profile photo: Add a profile photo so group members can recognize you on lists and the dashboard.
First-run welcome tour: A short tour on first login walks through the basics. Replay it later from your profile.
Multiple visual themes: Switch among light, dark, high-contrast, and seasonal themes such as Christmas, Halloween, and Hanukkah.
